Post of the Day

Hey. Not a lot has been going on. The weekend, for the most part, has been pretty boring. We lost another judge at Dragon's Table because of the UIUC players. Pretty disappointing. There has been talk of having a type one at Parkland this Saturday, with a 5 card proxy rule. I think it would be a lot of fun, and I am all for it.

Tomorrow Darksteel comes out on magic online. It seems like a good time to make some quick tix. I will try and do the dealer thing again.

Tomorrow sounds like it will be boring. Jimmy and Adam both won't be at Dragon's Table because of homework. Maybe Kurt, Tim, and me can figure out something to do.

I have been working on my RPG a little. The second version(1.5) of it is now up for download. So far it includes a castle, forest, and 3 of my friends. I am trying to think of a way to include more playable character (the limit is 4), because I am wanting to have around 8 people in it. There needs a to be a good way to switch people out. Maybe I could have two main characters, then have several other supporting characters that come and go. I will see what I can do, but for now, download it and tell me what you think.

Like I said, not much else happening. So until later,

Post of the Day

Hey all. Not much has gone on in the past few days. Monday I finished up the first working alpha of my RPG that I am making. By the way, a big thanks to Brian for hosting the file. The first alpha contains a mountain area (that is being removed in the next alpha), 2 plains, and a simple starting town. Gobboboy (aka Jimmy) also makes an appearance in the alpha. He is a character that can join your party if you like, and he is an absolute tank. He has high HP and Attack. There is no story in the first alpha, just that the queen needs help. I am thinking about a forest that is infested with evil monsters as the first quest. I plan on having the second alpha up for download by Saturday. The second alpha should have a mostly functional castle village, and the mountain will be replaced by a forest. There will also be more Easter eggs as always.

Tuesday I drafted at Parkland. It was a four man, triple Darksteel draft, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. In the third pack I got passed a Sword of Fire and Ice, which helped my deck a lot. I also ended up having 3 Vulshok Morningstar, 4 Loxodon Mystic, 2 Razor Golem, and 2 Stir the Pride. My deck was pretty insane. I won the draft, and got a pack and a Trinisphere for winning. I played some casual games afterwards, and helped someone with their deck.

Today was pretty boring. No one came to Dragon's Table, so I left early. I went home and worked on my RPG some more. I still need someone to help on the storyboard by the way :-)

Tomorrow I go to Parkland again. I need to give back some cards I borrowed from Jeff. I plan to have a fun time. I always do. It is really nice going there, and the GED class is going pretty good right now.

That's is about it for now. So until later,

Post of the Day

Hey. Friday was a little bit of a let down. D&D was pretty boring, and not much happened. Although we did manage to kill off 3/4 of the main story characters at the beginning of the night. Not much else happened. Saturday was a kind of low turnout for the sealed tournament at Dragon's Table. I think part of it was due to the fact that the U of I magic club held a sealed the same week. It really seems as if they are trying to purposely take away from John's business. 7 people came to the DT sealed. I got third, and Nathan got second. Another two local players who don't show up much took 1st and 4th. It was a fun day all in all.

Yesterday there was an extremely low turn out for the type one. It was only Brian, Jimmy, my Dad, and me. The U of I seems to refuse to hold their tournaments on at a different time/day. It is kind of annoying having all of our players go over there instead. I really wish Craig would do something, but then again he is making money so why stop?

Today I am going to DT to just hang out and play some type two. I would really like some serious testing against some good decks. I think my deck has a lot of potential, and would really like to find its weak points.

I am currently making my own RPG with a program called "RPG Maker 2003". It is a somewhat simple program to use, but can do a lot of complex functions. The program gives you a good idea of what goes into making an RPG, and a game in general. A lot of stuff needs to be set up for everything to work. So currently I am making my own game to pass around to my friends, and maybe put on the internet. Hopefully by 5 tonight I will have my first Alpha of it. It wont be anything fancy, but it will have a working town, and a place to battle some creatures. I also need a good story line for it, so if anyone has any ideas, please email me at voidmage17@hotmail.com, or send me a message on AIM, my screen name is DreamcastFreak17. The tentative title for my game will be "Grapes: The Saga", but very well might change.

Not much else is going on. So until later,

Post of the Day

My week has been pretty bland. That is the reason I haven't posted since Sunday. Monday was same as always. Tuesday I played at Parkland, tested $74K$ (or STACKS). Did decently. Wednesday was pretty boring. And yesterday I tested DeathLong.dec. It is interesting. I may consider playing it latter, but for now I plan to stick to STACKS. I got some pretty high scores on my pretests for the GED. My teacher told me that I could take it now and pass, but I have to wait to get Donna Shonk's approval. Donna Shonk runs the R.E.A.D.Y., which is why I get to take my GED in the first place. So for right now, I am studying the constitution so that I can pass that part of the test also. I know a lot about the US constitution, but not the Illinois state constitution. But I do think that I can pass the test without too much worry.

Tonight is D&D, and it should be pretty fun if all goes well. My character's stats were a little off, and are being fixed. It should be a pretty fun time. Our party is all level 4-6, and we all pretty much know what we are doing.

My affinity deck is still owning in type two. I challenge anyone to play me and see if they can beat it consistently. It has pretty good match-ups against everything I have tested against so far, and I think it has real potential.

Not a lot else is going on. Tomorrow is a Sealed Deck tournament at the Dragon's Table, and Sunday is a Type One. Both should be a lot of fun. Come and have a great time. So until later,

Post of the Day

Yep, been a while since I posted. Sorry about that. Lots of things going on and little time to post. Thursday I played at Parkland again. I can't tell you enough how friendly people there are. Played some casual, and some Flux. Flux is a pretty entertaining card game. Very random, and can get very fast. It is a game that you only buy once, but it was quite fun.

I also drafted Thursday night. My deck was half and half. I got some decent stuff, but not enough good filler. Oh well, I still got a few decent rares out of it.

Friday, I played D&D. I went pretty well. We got to try out our new artifacts. Mine was a "Belt of Arms", and it gave me two extra arms to attack with. When we finished the campaign I leveled to 6. I am liking how it is going right now.

Yesterday, I played in the type one. I played my new version of academy. It did decently, and I didn't make top eight by a .01 tie breaker. Kind of sucked, but Jimmy did give me the money for an Arcbound Ravager. So in the end I was happy.

Today, I went to Dragon's Table for the type two. I decided to support my local store rather than a dealer at the U of I. There were 5 people in total. 3 people didn't show up that were supposed to. I ended up going 5-0 with my deck. I was quite happy about it.

I have been playing a lot of Battlefield 1942 recently. I really love that game. It has some pretty good mods too. I recently downloaded the Desert Combat ver. 0.7. It is a pretty good update to that mod.

I also got a new keyboard and mouse for my computer. They are both Logic brand, and I have herd good reviews of them. The mouse even has 3 extra buttons. My old mouse would sometimes randomly fly across the screen, and my keyboard is about 15 years old. I will hook up my new stuff tonight.

I think that is about all for now. So until later,

Post of the Day

Sorry for the distance of posts, I have been a little busy. Saturday was a lot of fun. I played my Ankh Sligh in the 1.5 at Winter War. I barely made top eight with my 3-2 record. Then in the first round of top eight I had to play against Brian, so I lost. For my prize, I got two packs of Legions. In them I got some pretty decent stuff. One had a Foil Drinker of Sorrows, and a Goblin Incinerator, then in the other pack I got a Goblin Goon. Not to bad for two packs of one of the worst sets made. But it was a lot of fun, and I got to play the whole time before the tournament. I also made some decent trades for some cards I needed.

Sunday I just sat at home bored. The beta for Home Front was released, but I couldn't get it to play. It was very frustrating. I finally found out, after reinstalling the whole BF 1942, that it is a bug with the AI. D'oh! So I missed the beta server, and am now stuck with a mod I can not play. But, I can still play BF 1942, so that is not so bad.

Yesterday was pretty fun also. Jimmy, Kurt, Adam, and me, all drafted MMD. It was pretty fun. I got a decent deck, and after second round was 2-0. But then Jimmy complained that he wanted another round. I played against him and lost. I went from 1st to 3rd place. At least I got a Broodstar out of it, so I am satisfied. It was still a fun time, and I got to test my type two some more.

Today, I had class at Parkland again. It was fun. We took half of the Pretest for the Ged. I didn't get all of my results back, but I did get back how I did on Reading. I got a 520 out of 800, and missed something like 4 questions out of 20. Which is more than passing. To pass you just have to get somewhere around a 450.

After class, I went and played magic with the Parkland players. 5 other people were willing to draft, so I drafted also. We drafted DDDD, that's right, 4x Darksteel. It was quite fun. I got a pretty awesome draft deck. If it wasn't for a very close third game against Steve, I would have probably won. But oh well, it was a lot of fun. After that I played some type one with a few other people. I am really starting to like Parkland Magic. Everyone there is really nice, and they all play very casually. It is quite a fun environment to play in. And there is an easy access to food.

Tonight, I worked on a new deck I am building. I am trying to make a type one Welder deck. I think it is a good idea for a deck, and would like to try it out. I also played some more type two. I am really starting to like my deck, and I plan to take it to the JSS Championship.

That's about it for now, so until later,

Post of the Day

My week has gone pretty good. I went to my GED class twice now. The class is going pretty good. Everyone in my class is older than me. There is even one person that has children older than me. So that is kind of odd, but I just act like it is any other class. Next week we will take a pretest for the GED. Also, next week I can get my Parkland Student ID.

Today I also played with the Parkland Magic players. It was pretty fun. They all play a lot more casual decks than I play. I will have to make some new ones that are on their level. I think it will be a lot of fun though.

I also went to the U of I Magic club today. I didn't feel like drafting, so I decided to play Emperor. I borrowed a deck from Dave and played a few games. We lost, but it was still a fun night.

Yesterday, Ed and Evan were at the Dragon's Table. It is really fun to be around them. They are always saying the funniest things. I played a few games of Magic with them, and I traded some cards.

Not much more than that. So until later,

Post of the Day

Today was fun. I made top eight, along with Jimmy, Craig, and Nick. I played with my Draft Affinity deck. It was the first tournament I played, and am glad I did well. It has changed some from what I started with, maybe I will post a list later tonight.

Yesterday, I did pretty horrible with tog. I went 2-5. I had fun though, and was able to complete a few sets of cards that I needed. My dad, playing his orb deck, and Kurt, playing The Rock, went 4-3. The drive home went well also, and we got home before 10 at night. All in all it was a pretty fun day.

I started playing this new mod, for Battlefield 1942, called Home Front. It replaces everything in BF 1942 with stuff from Halo. It is a pretty cool mod. It is only on its second release, and still needs a lot of work, but is a lot of fun. I liked the mod so much that I decided to apply to be a beta tester, and was accepted. So I will get to play the new versions before everyone else. I also get the updates and fixes before every one else. Right now Battlefield 1942 came out with the 1.6 patch, which added two new level and Punkbuster, an anti-cheating utility. The 1.6 patch screwed up a lot of mods because of new buttons in the menus. This makes it so you can't play the mod, but because I am on the beta, I got the fix before anyone else, and can continue playing. In a few days, I am supposed to get a new version of Home Front to try out, and I can't wait.

Here is the deck list for my Draft Affinity that I promised. The sideboard is still just temporary untill I figure out what I need in it. I shall call it Nitroglycerin 1.6 in honor of the new BF 1942 patch.

Nitroglycerin 1.6

4x Disciple of the Vault
4x Frogmite
4x Myr Enforcer

4x Scale of Chiss-Goria

SIDEBOARD
